Place: Santa Barbara - [ 04/08/2011 - 07/08/2011 ]
The first week in August in Santa Barbara is a major celebration of the old Spanish Days when many events feature traditional songs and dances.
A magnificent equestrian parade using historical vehicles, costumes and riders is held on Santa Barbara's waterfront and its main thoroughfare, historic State Street.
It is a tradition by famous residents of the area to participate and wear historic costumes.
The parade starts on the waterfront at noon on the first Friday in August and celebrates the Rancho period, 1835 to 1865 in the early days of California.
